SCRAM-86
SCRAM-86
A tactical nuclear reactor control micro-simulator.

Operator Mission
Keep the nuclear reactor stable during the whole shift (3 minutes). Your goal is to supply the energy demand for the power grid without causing a thermal meltdown or a pressure overload.

Controls & Instruments
- Rod Control Lever: Adjusts the core's fission rate. Pull down to increase power and temperature; push up to slow down the reaction. Click and drag the handle to operate.
- Cooling Switch: Regulates the coolant flow to the reactor in four stages (0 to III). Left click to increase, right click to decrease.
- Pressure Vent Button: A single red button to vent steam and depressurize the containment vessel. Click and hold to release steam.
- Keyboard: [SPACE] to restart the simulation after the end of the shift or a meltdown event.
Operational Tips
- Be aware of the light indicators and alarm sounds; sudden variation on power demand calls for combined control of fuel rods and coolant pump.
- Continuous use of the pressure release valve reduces temporarily its thermal exhaust efficiency.
